House Foundations

Find the remains to three homes near the cemetery dating as far back as the 1800s.

 

 

 


 Picnic Bench & Fire Pit

You can find a place to rest while hiking the trails. This location is also a rest stop for the ATVs that can be found riding through the area.

The use of this location in such a manner is unauthorized by the Forest Preserve District. Please be safe when visiting the area and remember that ground fires, nor ATVs, are allowed on District property without approval.

 

 
Water Wells

This is one of the three wells that can be found in the area.

 

They can be found both east and west of the cemetery.

 

 

 

 

Silos

This is one of the two silo foundations that can be found in the area.

 

They can be found both east and west of the cemetery.

 

 

  

 

  Holy Tree

Various statues can be found inside the large hole of the "Holy Tree"

 

(Also known as The Keebler Tree)

 

 

The Gate

Find the remains to the original gate that prevented vehicle access to the cemetery before the 1960s. This is the same gate that was used to trap police officers in 1958.

 


Cistern

Find the remains to the cistern that used to store water for some of the early settlers to the area.
