Rubio Woods - Forest Preserve

 

The Rubio Woods Forest Preserve is the closest parking available if you wish to visit Bachelors Grove cemetery.

The map below shows the location to the parking lot itself.

According to local legend, the origin to the name Rubio Woods comes from Ruby Ryan, wife of the late President of the District Daniel Ryan. Ruby's maiden name was Ruby O'Connor and the original name that was considered for this preserve was Rubiosee, which was later abbreviated to Rubio in her honor.
