Lady-On-The-Headstone photograph - Exclusive Interview
« on: July 21, 2010, 11:08:23 AM »
Just to give everyone a heads up...

The woman who captured the well known photograph of the lady-on-the-headstone gave an exclusive interview for a national TV show. This is the first time she has gone on-the-record publicly. I can't divulge which show it is at this point in time but if/when it airs you will hear about here.

There was an attempt many months prior to the interview for her to go on-the-record for a documentary sponsored by this site which is to help benefit the cemetery but she declined. She apparently, and understandably, wanted to get paid... :(

I can't wait to hear what she had to say but the interview will probably be cut very short and unfortunately a lot of embellishment was a part of the Network "script" upon filming. I kind of feel bad for telling them to try and interview her. At this point I really don't expect to gain much information from the interview based upon the company who was doing the filming for the TV Network. If she finds that the Network didn't do her justice and/or they made her look foolish she is still more than welcome to speak her mind for us! (Hint hint).

To give you an idea as to the possible quality of the program and the amount of time they take in "researching" paranormal locations, when they contacted me for info they inquired about Bachelors Grove as being a hotel... Of course the matter was cleared up later that it's a cemetery. The mistake was a bit of a red flag on the quality but it was still important to try and get her to go public.

So yes, I'm a little disappointed that the interview will be mixed with something that isn't exactly credible but I'm still happy that she decided to go public. Thank you! :)

When was the last time "The Lady in White" was last seen or photographed? To my knowledge I think the one taken by Jude Felz in the 1990's. But has this Lady in white been ever seen since then ?

If you want to factor in the reports of people seeing a white figure, which also gives the impression of being a woman, then reports would be as recent as this year. But how can we be sure that what they are seeing is "exactly" what's in the 90s photograph?

I set my preferences to notify me by email when this topic gets replies and updates. As of our cleanup today 8/22, you had no information as to which network or when?

I have to wait until it is about to be aired before I can say anything else.

Ok, the episode is airing tonight on the Travel Channel. I missed the 8:00 PM show so I have to make it for the 11:00 PM... Read the main page to the website for other airing dates and times :)

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you this special report

So I watched the 11:00 PM show for the entire hour and there was nothing about Bachelors Grove  :-\  So here is what may have happened...

I originally received information that the episode which will air the interview is to take place on October 22nd at 7:00 PM (Chicago Time?) which should be for Volume 7. But if you go to the website for the Travel Channel this is what is reported for Volume 5:

Quote
Most Terrifying Places in America Vol 5

Our final hour of Most Terrifying Places in America takes us to even more paranormal hotspots that are guaranteed to haunt your dreams! In this episode, we take you to a range of places from a desecrated cemetery in Illinois where one of the most compelling pieces of paranormal photo evidence was taken, to an eerie theater in Cincinnati built over a mass grave! TV-PG, CC

Volume 5 showed nothing about the "desecrated cemetery in Illinois where one of the most compelling pieces of paranormal photo evidence was taken". I didn't want everyone to miss the episode so I figured that my source was incorrect about the October 22nd Volume 7 air date. So either the website is incorrect and the real episode is for Volume 7 or there is no longer any real way to determine which episode it is and we will just have to keep an eye on each one. So basically, this sucks  >:(

I will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Ok, so I was told once again that the original air date should definitely be for this Friday, the 22nd. One of our volunteers stated that they already saw something about the cemetery last week on the Travel Channel but I can't be sure if it was for a different type of paranormal show on the same channel. I'm looking into that one as well...

Oh, and by the way, one of our volunteers came forward and submitted an ORIGINAL photograph developed from the negative. The notice hasn't gone out yet so if you are reading this you're in luck. Be sure to visit the link below to view it. Thanks Draven!!! You rock  8)

Just a friendly reminder that the Travel Channel episode is tonight. Volume 7 will air at 8:00 PM  "Chicago" time. I won't be home to watch it but they air it again on Saturday, as well as some other dates :)

I was able to get home in time to watch the Volume 7 episode. It was really for 7 PM and not 8 PM. I'm really not happy with the Travel Channel's channel guide...  >:(

Overall it was great to see Jude :) The amount of time they devoted to the segment for Bachelors Grove was WAY too short. There are local news broadcasts that have devoted more time than they did. I was looking forward to hearing about behind-the-scenes information to the photograph. For example, recently I learned that a high school photography lab was responsible for developing the photograph. For me that is interesting background information. But I guess the Travel Channel has their own way of speeding through a million locations in their episodes on haunted locations and good background information isn't exactly on the priority list.

There will be more dates that the episode will air on and I'll get around to posting them as-is from the Travel Channel's channel guide.

If you speak with Jude be sure to tell her I said hello!! That one documentary she knows about didn't fall through just like soooo many others about Bachelors Grove. At the time it was a great opportunity to finally reach out and try to speak with her. Even though the documentary is no longer in production I feel I still need to speak with her in order to get correct information. A prime example is the high school photography lab developing the photograph. This information came from someone with a copy of the photograph straight off of the negative. Before the rest of the team that developed the photograph comes forward I would LOVE to speak with Jude.

Me and two of my friend went to bg last night around 9pm my one friend felt a tug on her leg and so she sat down as i was recording on my phone i captured an older woman saying 'thank you' twice. We were all silent wen this happened and also ive heard reports about a dog? Wen we were leaving there was a dog barking very very close. It sounded either on the trail very close to the cemetary or by the creek. We got freaked so much. There was no dog barking wen we finnally got the courage to move. Once we stepped out of the fence the barking stopped.does anyone else had an experience like this?

During the day I have experienced a coyote barking "exactly" like a dog less than 25 feet from the main entrance to the cemetery. I still intend on posting the audio for everyone to hear.

The area has seen a lot of coyote activity this year so this is the most likely source for the barking. When you are at the cemetery itself, hearing any loud barking noises from the few houses nearby is less likely to be heard than the coyotes themselves.

Why in the world would they do a voiceover that sounds like a preview for an upcoming sporting event or the opening of the latest slasher film? Couldn't they find someone to do something a little more sedate, a little more understated?
For what it's worth, I read previous posts (from 2010) about an upcoming interview with Jude Huff-Felz  on a 'national tv show'...well, I didn't see THAT particular show but I did see a show called "Haunted Chicago" on, I believe, the History channel last saturday, 8/14/2011. (If not History then NATGEO). Very little information about the minutia but very entertaining nonetheless. I found the segment about Clarence Darrow's ghost particularly riveting as, supposedly, his appearance on Halloween is a regular occurence.
carry on group!

Although not the same as a real interview such as on t.v. or radio where you hear her own voice, if anyone wants a little bit of extra information on the background of the photo you can visit:

http://www.bachelorsgrove.com/books/138-ghosts-among-us.html

There, you can find pages from a book where it also states that she first excepted compensation for the photograph. But there is information to the contrary which suggests that compensation was given years earlier by a different author. This is another reason why information within the book should not be considered a real interview. But enjoy the information anyway.
