Not ghosts story
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:32:27 AM »
I just had a buddy of mine tell me a story of when he visited BG... in autumn 1967....
He and a group of friends decided to prove their manhood by not being scared of BG... He said it was a common practice of the boys he knew to sneak in at night and check the place out without chickening out as sort of a rite of passage.
He was a track boy, and so was another in the group. They parked and headed in, jibing each other. My friend was at the back of the pack. As they were getting close to the cemetery, they all heard a big noise! And off like lightning, the boys at the front of the pack started sprinting back out to get back to their cars, far outpacing the track boys in their fear. They got to their cars and my friend and another boy decided to go back in, because they felt stupid that they were so scared by everyone else running. They showed up on the road in time for the police to make their patrol and harass them for being out on the road at night. They bluffed like they didn't even know the cemetery existed and got away with it, lol.
They rest of the boys had already driven away. So with the cops there, they didn't go back in but got into their car and drove away.
In the cold light of day, most of them felt stupid, but a couple of them thought it was funny that they all ran scared over the noise... In hindsight, it was most likely an animal moving in the woods by the path :)

Not ghosts after all....

cheers
