Agreed... I absolutely prefer the 'matter of fact' presentation of this website that doesn't immediately try to scream 'haunted' the minute you view it. I've visited many sites about BG, visited the location myself in 1997 while Geocaching. (I'm a geocacher, and I can generally say that most of the Chicago area cachers are VERY active in Cache in Trash Out)
My point is, I prefer, and subscribed to THIS site because of the content, and the way its presented. There is as much emphasis on the history of the location as the other information re: hauntings.
When I was there in 2007, it was SWARMING with locusts - and was an incredible experience. The only thing I personally can say I found odd was with no wind that day, warm, not really even breezy, the trees in the woods were creaking like they would on a windy day - and every member of my caching party noticed it. Stumbled across the well - literally, I almost fell in.
Lovely location - it was overgrown, yet still beautiful when I saw it.
I don't believe many 'ghost stories' I think often, your mind shows you what you want to see - yet I don't doubt this location carries some sort of energy - I have my own theories on what 'ghosts' truly are. But, I loved the new front page blog, and agree - you dont need a paranormal group or tour to investigate locations like this - IMO, bring your eyes, and your ears, and a trash bag to clean up the area. It IS a shame to hear people want to profit off of what really is a historical location - particularly a burial site.
Thanks for the site - I love it.
