There's hope yet...

Found this article and I thought I would share it... It kind of gives hope that BG markers could be found and restored sooner or later...

I'm hoping that will happen as well. I remember a few people I spoke to long ago that claimed to have seen headstones in their friends homes that had come from Bachelors Grove. I really hope those people mysteriously drop them off outside the Tinley Park Historical Society some day with no questions asked... (HINT HINT!)

The pond itself will probably be our last hope as no vandal is brave enough to go in and look so what ever might be there is going to be there for a long time. As to whether they would be in good enough condition to read and salvage is another question...

Beth and Pete there is hope yet as my brothers brother in law is a grave digger and he told me that water actually preserves bodies in the cemetery graves for a while. I think that stones that are in water and more than likely in silt will protect the writings ect. I hope one day we will be able to recover some of these stones that are in the pond and see if they are in good shape.   :)

I would love it if they would drain that pond....or at least clean the water to the point where we could see whats at the bottom.
